FAQ

How do I go about booking a session?

All sessions are booked through the ‘Lets Talk’ form or through email at info@houseofamselphotography.com. I do not book any sessions over social media. Dates are on a first come, first save basis. If you have a certain date or time in mind, please include that on the contact form!

At what times do sessions start and end?

I photograph at sunrise, and an hour to an hour and a half before sunset. Sometimes, we will even go a few minutes past sunset into blue hour! This time will be narrowed down by each specific session date. and by location. Mountain sessions start two and a half hours before sunset because of hiking time.

what do i wear to my session? Do you hAVE A CLIENT CLOSET?

Planning outfits is always one of the most stressful things when it comes to family pictures! Here at House of Amsel, we strive to make it as easy as possible. After booking your session, you will receive a style guide with an overview of which styles and colors look well with my photography style. I also have a client closet filled with women’s and girls dresses, each session can claim up to two outfits for their session. You can view the closet on my instagram page!

IS THERE A deposit DUE WHEN BOOKING OUR SESSION?

There is a 25% deposit due with every session and wedding. For family, newborn and maternity sessions the remainder is due 2 days prior to session. With weddings your final payment is due two weeks prior to your wedding.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS INCLEMENT WEATHER ON THE DAY OF OUR SESSION?

This Virginia weather, am I right?! I watch the weather diligently all week. If there is inclement weather predicted on the day of your session we will make a rain plan, hold the session earlier, or reschedule to another day. All final calls for weather for session dates are made by 3pm.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY GALLERY BACK?

Trust me, I know you are so excited to get your photos back! All my sessions take 4-6 weeks to fully edit! You galleries will be delivered to you on an Online Gallery, that will be good for three years! The turn around time for weddings is 10-12 weeks.

If you need you photographs back by a certain date, please be mindful of the turn around time!
